A visit to the Sacramento Delta
Laura and I had the pleasure of spending a few days with our Son, Michael and his beautiful wife Amber at their new home in Courtland, California deep in the Sacramento Delta and located adjoining the Sacramento river. Courtland is an old and beautiful community known as "the pear capital of the world" and host of the annual "Delta Pear Fair" which is always held the last weekend in July.
Down the River road, a few miles south, lies the town of Locke, which was also founded by the Chinese about a century ago. Locke, like Courtland, is a very picturesque town!
All of the pictures on this web site were taken in a 48 hour period and within a ten mile radius of Courtland. Now, in retrospect, I think of the many pictures I should have taken! Oh well, next trip.
Hopefully, This gallery will be constantly changing, so drop by once in a while and check it out.
